My inspiration to be involved in the arts came at a very early age: I went to a small village primary school with just one class of all ages. We struggled to find common ground - but one day we had to draw monsters, and I had seen a song called ‘Monster Mash’ on ‘Top of the Pops’ so I asked if we could make our monsters do the ‘Monster Mash’.  We all made masks, brought-in dress-up clothes, played the record and created a dance. At the end of the week we performed for parents and it was great! We had worked as a team and enjoyed each other’s contributions, and I thought this is what I want to do in life!  Arts brings communities together and I am so lucky to work within this valuable and vital sector.
