I don’t think my love for the theatre was bolstered as a conscious attempt to evade the bullies and taunters that always seem to be there throughout my childhood; but looking back as an adult: Theatre and me became an impenetrable relationship that definitely allowed me to get through the dark days. Some very dark days.  This art form allowed me to create other people and worlds that were safer and friendlier than the one I actually lived in. It also introduced me to a group of people that had the same interests and similar experience as I did. A group of people I am so happy to still call my friends.

I’d encourage every person young or old to find some outlet where they can be creative, whatever that might be, to get away from the stresses of day to day life.
