He has entertained corporate clients ranging from small independent companies to  big household names such as AXA, Aviva, TSB, and Virgin Atlantic. He is also a successful writer in the magic world having written several books on his own techniques and lectured them to psychology students, mentalists, and magicians at the prestigious Magic Circle. In 2014 he took his one-man show to Edinburgh Fringe Festival playing to packed houses every night, and has toured the UK performing to over 30,000 people as the stand-out star of ‘Champions Of Magic’.  In January 2016 Alex will debut his new one-man show in Perth, Western Australia before touring again with 'Champions of Magic' in the Spring. “Think Derren Brown's better-looking but equally charismatic apprentice and you're just about there." - Student Rag Magazine. www.alexthemindreader.com

We will be looking to hear from and talk more about unlikely alliances  in 2016 – so connecting more with the local business sector and discussing potential new funding opportunities for artists and organisations. Call for Aspiring Playwrights
Local play writing group, Four by Four, is inviting anyone with an interest in stage or radio play writing to share a sample of their work at an informal Playwrights’ Play Reading on Saturday, February 6.

During the three hour session at North Wymondham Community Centre, Lime Tree Avenue, Wymondham (10.00am – 1.00pm), stage and/or radio playwrights will have the opportunity for up to 10 pages of each play to be read out loud, by a team of amateur actors.

A spokesperson for Four by Four said:

“Whereas there are a number of groups for writers of poetry, prose, short stories and full-length novels, the opportunities for play or script writers to collaborate tend to be more limited”

There is a £2 writer participation fee, to cover the cost of hiring the venue and refreshments throughout the session.

Scripts should be sent, by e-mail, to: [email protected], by January 31.
