Signature Pictures are a social enterprise production company that provides training and work experience opportunities to unemployed young people in every department of our film productions.  Partnered with Jobcentre Plus we fulfil a critical gap in provision for the many talented young people who lack the contacts, resources or belief necessary to develop a career in the creative industries or another sector.  Many of our trainees have since gone on to work within film and media, or retained the confidence to go on and seek employment in other industries of their choice. Signature Pictures is recruiting trainees into all departments of its latest short film production in Norwich: NO PAIN WHATSOEVER.
No prior experience is necessary, only genuine enthusiasm and the desire to work. This is your opportunity to turn your passion into a career!

TRAINING COURSE: Starting out as a freelancer - managing a portfolio career (see attached)
a-n’s professional development programme in Norfolk, in partnership with Norfolk Arts Service, Norfolk County Council.

Are you looking to learn more about starting out as a freelancer? Do you need advice on how to get started, build a network of support, get work, fund your own projects and promote and market your new business?  This one-day workshop with Hen Norton looks at all aspects of making a freelance career work. It is suitable for anyone starting out or already working in the creative industries, from a recent graduate to more established practitioners who are thinking about working for themselves.
 
Cost to attend
£25 full price, £15 discounted price for a-n members. The day Includes coffee, tea and soft drinks but lunch is not included.

The Norfolk Dance Artists Collective (NDAC) have created some stunning work over this last year and we are gathering at Norwich Arts Centre to show you what the future looks like.
There will be daytime workshops with some of the most exciting practitioners from across our county culminating in an evening of performance supported by some stunning visuals, and music.

Words and Women Competition 2016 (see attached)
Write prose? Do you write fiction, memoir, creative non-fiction? Do you enjoy life-writing? Then enter your work for the Words And Women writing competition.
National prize: £1,000 & a month’s writing residency provided by Hosking Houses Trust.
Regional prize: £600 & a mentoring session with Jill Dawson of Gold Dust.
Winners & twenty shortlisted entries will be published in our annual anthology.
Entries judged by Naomi Wood, prize-winning author of The Godless Boys & Mrs. Hemingway.
Closing date: 15th November 2016.
Entries can be short prose, on any theme, up to 2,200 words.
National prize open to women writers over the age of 40. Regional prize open to women writers over the age of 16 living in the East of England.
